Maria Kolias is a Couple and Family Therapy (CFT) master’s student in The Ohio State University couple and family program. She is originally from Frederick, Maryland, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2025.
Her approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practice. She works from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) orientation, with an emphasis on helping clients understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relational patterns. She strives to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where individuals, couples, and families feel understood and empowered to make meaningful changes.
Her clinical interests include working with couples and families affected by OCD, eating disorders, postpartum concerns, intimacy and sexual issues, and couples navigating relationships with differing body types. She is particularly interested in addressing how individual mental health concerns intersect with relational dynamics, identity, and self-worth within relationships.
Maria is under the work and training supervision of Maureen Scelza, MA, IMFT-S # F.1800075-SUPV
